Site Council

Next Meeting March 27, 2007

 

Join us for pizza starting at 5:40 PM before every LCO and Site Council meeting.

We try to arrange childcare during the meeting and if sitters are not available we have quiet activities for students in the library with us.

 

Each school has a site council, which is a group of parents, community members, business representatives, teachers and other school staff. Site Councils are required by the State of Kansas as a part of the Accreditation Process (QPA). Site Councils identify, consider and discuss educational issues.  Councils provide advice for evaluation by the state or district performance goals.

 

Issues discussed include:

  • Academic results and planned improvement
  • Personnel recommendations
  • Budget recommendations
  • Input on District calendar
  • Application for Grants
  • Curriculum/standards implementation
  • Recommendations for a Middle School program that supports the Open Philosophy
